Much of the climate movement is now pouring its energies into combating disinformation. But this focus fails to address real concerns about a green transition and obscures what is needed to win the public over to effective climate action.
I think stopping them from being able to shill the propaganda in the first place is sort of the point here. They are allowed to just make ads that are 100% bullshit, but as long as it doesn’t mention a product, it’s technically not an “advertisement” subject to laws (can’t be hit for false advertising, for example).
