Mindful and considerate, yes. But that doesn’t mean I put my entire day on hold for people that don’t get up until 10 or 11.

8am is pretty reasonable start to the day for me.

But I also believe that people bitching and saying no loud noises before 10am are being just as selfish as the people who get up and do yardwork at 6am. If someone has a problem or some extraordinary reasons for wanting it to stay quiet later, they can talk to each other and try to find a compromise.

And out of 7 days, if you are only being inconvenienced for a couple hours maybe that’s something you should be more tolerant of.

Cool. No loud parties after 9pm then? Or is inconveniencing my sleep okay because you do it at night?

I’ve got one day a week I can do yard work, and only until 9am until it hits over 90° out. Sorry, buddy. But you might have to deal with some noise. Wish we could all live in perfect harmony. But until then you have to deal with some shit you don’t like and I have to deal with some shit I don’t like and we’ll do our best to not inconvenience each other too bad.

No loud parties. I promise. That would require friends.

You can’t do the yard work at 6pm instead? If your neighbors are having loud parties every week then yes you should talk to them and say it’s affecting your sleep, and if they don’t listen report them. My neighbors came over and said they would be playing music past 10pm and if that would be okay. Not being noisy when your neighbors might be asleep (even if it’s a big inconvenience) is just being considerate. If your neighbors are being noisy and you have no recourse then that’s a obviously different.

Also, get a sun hat and a handheld fan, take breaks, unless it’s a literal heatwave then you can manage (source: have done yard work at noon during a heat wave)

Yes, literally the noise ordinance where I am says no gas mowers/trimmers/blowers before 9am and no music which crosses property lines after 10pm. This is not complicated.

32c is nothing, and if the temps get high enough to stop work the plants are in survival stasis and you don’t need to do yard work

You can join the loud party and have fun I can’t join you cutting your own grass and I wouldn’t have fun anyway…

Lol as if cutting my lawn is fun. Or that I’d even want to join your party.

It’s hypocritical to think that your loud noise when Im trying to sleep is okay but my loud noise when you are trying to sleep isn’t.

But this is life living with other people that don’t sleep the same hours as you. Sometimes shit is going to inconvenience you, and I’ll do what I can to minimize it. But I’ve got shit I need to get done too and I’m just not going to not do it because it might suck for someone for an hour of their week.

Would you prefer to remain in bed covering your ears ? I’m not saying you shouldnt cut the grass I’m saying you could cut it later during the day … After 5 pm for example the sun isn’t hot anymore and you won’t wake the whole neighborhood up at 8 on a Sunday morning, probably the only day a standard worker could sleep in peace… Yes it sounds hypocritical but as I have said you can cut the grass in the afternoon but you can’t throw parties in the morning just because the night is intrinsic to parting … Everyone has shit to get done and this shouldnt be used as an excuse if we don’t ever stop to think about others we would never find a way to live together without fighting…

Out of 7 days these are the only two days most people can sleep past 8 and some people like sleeping. It is no different than consistently throwing late night parties during weekdays when most people have to wake up early the next day. There is a generally acceptable universal range which is no loud noises between 10pm to 9am. If you are the person who needs to make noise (such as the occasional party or repairs that need to start early etc) then it’s you who should go and tell/ask the neighbours about it, not the neighbours who should come and convince you to reduce noise.

Ahh fack off. It costs you nothing to wait until 10 to fire up noisemakers

8am is pretty reasonable start to the day for me.

Almost your entire neighborhood is populated with people who are not you. Why do you get preference?
