The Columbus Blue Jackets issued the following statement today on the passing of All-Star forward Johnny Gaudreau and his brother, Matthew.

No other details have been released yet, just that it was an “accident”.
More than just a family, think of all the team mates and people they have worked with in the past. Think of the charitable organizations who they partnered with. While some (including me) have called them goons, the fact is these too had outsizes impacts on the communities they were apart of just because of their talents. The whole world is poorer for this loss and every loss like it.
