It’s funny how the Everett True meme started with the comics of him reacting brutally to injustice but then I guess those comics ran out and so we get to see him simply rampage through early 20th century society like Hulk wearing a suit, if Hulk was married and Hulk’s wife beat him up sometimes.

Yeah I hear ya! But I didn’t find the “defender of justice” Everett that interesting, tbh. Personally I really like the insight into the era.

Think about it: this was 1905. In Russia, the 1905 revolution was in full swing, and here in the US they were arguing about old people dressing young, apparently. And how exactly is that ol lady’s dress “young”? Is it the feather in the hat? I think I read somewhere that in the US and England, true “youth fashion” only began in the early 1960s when middle-class kids got enough disposable income to influence commercial designs on a wide scale. But from 1905 to the 60s is about as distant in time as the 60s to now. Also I really appreciate the language: “Wait till I come into this house again!” I gotta learn to talk like that!

Finally, the “lessons” are always timeless. Everett snitches, and he gets stitches. An eternal truth, apparently.

I think the young part is that she dresses in fancy modern (1905) clothes. Just like now, many old people tended to wear clothes typical of the fashion of their youth, so she should have worn clothes that were more akin to the fashion of the mid 1870s.
