Sorry if this should be obvious. Let’s say I want to search this Jerboa community for the keyword “login” to get all the posts and comments about “login” from only Jerboa community… how can I do this? It’s probably right in front of me, so I apologize in advance for missing it… 🫠🙇
I’ve asked something similar about Lemmy in general and they told me that this is not implemented yet.
The way I understand it, this should be implemented at the server level, and not at the app level, since the app should make an SQL query to the server, rather than download the entire community history in one go.
Thank you for letting me know. 🙇 I felt a bit silly not being able to find it. Hopefully some form of implementation will be forthcoming. I think it would drive (hopefully meaningful) engagement. Everything is very nascent still, so I’m pretty patient. I actually don’t have much social media anymore, so reduced functionality right now just feels more minimalist.
I’m trying to cut off facebook and twitter myself. Probably not going to reddit either. But still, functionality is something that is important for me.
sigh with more time on my hands, I might have been able to contribute to the code and provide such functionality myself.
I made the Facebook-free leap I think when COVID hit. It felt like it was overrun by no one I enjoyed to read about. I left Twitter when the Musk debacle occurred. I didn’t want to be witness to his desperate bids for attention from fanbros. I mostly used it for micropoetry, anyway.
I don’t even think about them most days, so I’m happy with the decision. I spend much less time doom-scrolling and have more time for my actual interests.
Exactly my thoughts. Sadly, there is some information you can get only via these platforms so I cannot disconnect from them completely.
Yes, that’s very true. I live a pretty insular life, so this is just my way, not THE way. 😁 Partner has FB still, so we use that for marketplace deals or whatever.
