This argument is hilarious with the intended implication that Republicans would somehow be different. Both Dem and Repub support Israel and the arms deals. Dems are still far better for the US though

I wish they didn’t support Isreal with weapons but here we are

The intended implication that Republicans would somehow be different.

Republicans don’t pretend to advocate for a ceasefire.

The Obama administration dropped an average of 60 bombs every single day, on the middle east and north africa, during his presidency.

Has there been any reckoning or reflection on that atrocity, within the democratic party?

      There is no such implication.

Both Dem and Repub support Israel and the arms deals.

      Correct, liberals are pretending otherwise.

Yes there lmao. Otherwise the meme would have “US GOVT” at the bottom, but by only calling out Dems its trying to imply that the only other viable party is somehow different.

And liberals/dems/the left know this. They either support Israel too or are outspoken against it, hence the protests that are ignored or demonized by the media.

Wrong, it’s highlighting to liberals and dems that their party is also complicit in genocide, which they are currently firmly denying.

Why are you grouping in the Left with liberals and dems?

You are being purposefully obtuse if you think this mean isnt attempting to put Dems in a spot where Repubs arent.

I agree, that is the reality, but by only calling out Dems its implying Repubs are different. To me that is the apparent purpose of this meme.

“Oh, Dems turn a blind eye to genocide in Palestine” true, but Repubs do as well. Its almost the whole of US Congress that is complicit.

You’re on a Communist community, you aren’t going to find fans of the GOP.

Correct, but this statement is bannable on Lemmy.world.

I genuinely don’t understand how y’all say this with a straight face. You can’t justify genocide with any other policies. It’s literally just “atleast Mussolini made the trains run on time” fascist apologia.

You are in the “in group” for the Democrats right now so you aren’t being harmed. That doesn’t change the fact they have a harmful ideology that pushes and normalizes fascism and genocide, and it doesn’t protect you in the long run to support/ encourage those sentiments. You just normalize them and strengthen them for the opponent to use, “first they came for…”.

(…I was going to use the harsh border/immigration policies to make a comparison at first, but unfortunately these policies and sentiments have already been co-opted and normalized by the Democrats as well…)
