For those who own one, it’s been a while since the last hardware update to the Shield. Do we need more power or are we good as is? And is it still the best option?
Yes, we do. I find the shield slow and underpowered. The hardware doesn’t support HDR on YouTube. Even just navigating the UI takes too long. It would also be nice if it supported 120 Hz for menu navigation. Starting playback for items is also significantly slower than the Apple TV. So I’ve switched to using infuse with apple TV for most of my playback of Bluray rips.
I don’t have height channels so the loss of atmos with lossless formats doesn’t matter to me.
