Nissan Ariya, purchased in Iowa, US. Loving it so far. Don’t have a 240V outlet in the garage though, so charging is super slow. We don’t drive all that much though, so shouldn’t be an issue. Also first new car in 12 years. So many new features 😵‍💫😍. Hands free driving is fun, and we love the 360 camera.

Very cool! What drew you to the Ariya over competing brands’ offerings?

We test drove a lot of them. We had it in our head that we were going to get the Ionic 5, because of all the good press, and because our friend has a Hyundai (not electric) and loves it. I really wasn’t even considering the Ariya, but figured I should do my due diligence and at least check it out. We kind of fell in love with it right away. It was just really comfortable, and had a lot of really nice features even in the middle trim, like rear heated seats, and a 360 backup camera.

The nearest Hyundai dealer that sold electrics was an hour away and only had the SEL model, which was very nice, but was missing the 360 camera, and didn’t even have memory settings for the drivers seat, which is something we really wanted, since we’re basically a single car family. The Limited trim adds those features, but the nearest one was 2.5 hours away, and not in any color we liked. The nearer dealer did find one in the trim & color we liked, but it would have been 5k more than the Ariya, and seeing how we liked both, that made for an easy decision.

Oh, and the last thing, which really shouldn’t have been a factor, but was, is that the Nissan dealers were just a pleasure to deal with. Hyundai definitely gave the hard sell, but the 2 different Nissan dealers we went to both were just super nice and friendly, and never pushed us on anything.
