    Bro I saw that in the Lego Store the other day going for $680 USD….it looked insane I NEED IT…alas…priorities…

      It’s one of those sets that has a magical attraction to most guys. There’s just something inherently neat about a huge ship.

      I also have a bit of an unusual reason for wanting that particular set. Back in the very early 90’s, my uncle was downright obsessed with the Titanic. Absolutely fascinated by how they designed and built it. Owned a set of blueprints, books, etc. This was well before the internet was a thing, much less the movie.

      He also had a LEGO titanic that he built over the course of the late 80’s and early 90’s. It was built mostly from your regular rectangular bricks with Technic beams for the portholes and a bit of System for the detailing. It was massive; took up an entire dinner table. It was even bigger than the LEGO Titanic we have today. God only knows how he got his hands on that many bricks in those days. I certainly couldn’t do it today.

      The current set looks nicer than his in terms of detail, obviously. But if you’d seen his, you would’ve been impressed for sure.
