Homelessness sweeps in California’s Central Valley have intensified in the wake of the Supreme Court’s Grants Pass ruling, perhaps no more so than in Fresno.
So, taxpayer paid housing then. But it’s ok because it comes with suffering. Seriously, I’m sure an apartment would be cheaper than jail and probably make everyone involved a lot happier. Here’s the one I saw the other day, but if you Google “inmate McDonald’s slavery” a bunch come up from other sources. Basically they pay minimum wage, the prison takes a cut, the prison also charges the inmates a fee, and the prison also withholds privileges if they refuse.
