“the sun will not come up tomorrow if you vote for my rival”

This is demonstrably untrue and should lead to fines and prison sentences for those who utter it in a public forum under the guise of news or as a public figure. There are literally thousands/millions more like this.

I disagree, we the people should be able to speak our minds, especially those we do not agree with.

“Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear.” – Harry S. Truman

Lies are not opposition. They’re lies. If I can go outside and literally point to their lies it should be illegal as a public figure. You want to lie from your basement idgaf but as soon as you become a public voice of ‘truth’ that shit ends.

          I do not agree.

Again, you need to see who says and determines what are ‘lies’ vs. ‘truth’.

I do not trust the government and politicians; I don’t think anyone should. We must always be critical of those with power and influence.

No you don’t. The sun doesn’t give a fuck about what you say.

More regulations of our first amendment rights are not good; excuses are always used to censor dissent.

I will always try to remind people to be highly critical of our government and those with power and influence.

It is okay if we do not agree; we just have differences in how we see the government.
