    I wouldn’t call it power tripping per se, as it’s more of a classic liberal take that their member would applaud. But it’s definitely against the spirit of a generic community to be partisan like this. But then again, one could argue that making your community in LW is an explicitly liberal/centrist position.

      Permabanning users for saying Democrats are complicit in Genocide is in my opinion a heavy powertrip. LemmyWorld just normalizes it. They believe they are entitled to spread Democrat propaganda and never be called out on it. It even is more egregious since LemmyWorld allows users (and their mods) to insult and spread actual misinformation about the Green party.

      I would not mind it if they applied their standards consistently. But their line is not drawn on insulting political figures or spreading misinformation. Only on calling out the Democratic party.

      LemmyWorld is basically r/Conservative for Democrats.
