The report Bart Giamatti had must of contained pretty damning evidence for Pete Rose to accept a a lifetime ban to prevent the report from being published. The man had no quit in him, why did he capitulate so easily? My assumption is the details are far worse than just betting on his own team. The report should be published and then, and only then, should the veterans committee vote on hall of fame membership.
