A growing body of evidence linking pot use during adolescence to both mental illness and changes in the reward circuitry of the brain that likely contribute to later addictions to other drugs, and the stage is set for yet another youth mental-health crisis on top of a wave of depression, anxiety and attempted self-harm thanks to disastrous school-closure policies during the pandemic.

    I agree.

    I think decriminalization needs to be matched with an “anti-smoking” type educational campaign.

    Tabacco is legal, but people use it less and less as they learn about the negative impacts on their health and the health of their loved ones.

      If we compare to tobacco, the anti-smoking campaigns (combined with moves to cleaner methods like vaping) has all but eradicated smoking tobacco in youths. I wonder if it would really be so bad to encourage edibles if the kids are going to do it?
