You post a lot of quality stuff to News / World News. Why do you keep deleting your accounts and taking all the posts with it? That’s kind of rude.

All the times I deleted my account was for a reason to do with the instance, sadly I never found any perfect instance to host my account in.

The instance could have a technical issue that prevent me from posting (Programming Dev), or the instance disable downvotes (lemmynsfw), or the instance does not have access to all the communities on Lemmy(r. nf), or the instance could have weird limitations or bad admins.

If I am being honest with you, I started thinking about leaving Lemmy for good due to the amount of problems I face here and I don’t have to even think about on Reddit.

I really try to hold into supporting open-source projects, but the amount of issues that Lemmy has prevent it from ever becoming anything good.

I had never deleted my Discuit or Tildes account even once because I never suffer from any issues with them.

On the other hand, on Lemmy every registration on new instance has it’s own set of problems that is 50% unrelated to the software itself.

I post here because whenever I check Reddit alternatives community on Reddit, they recommend Lemmy. But continuing to use it would require a great amount of coping to not get upset by all the issues.

I started to understand that it’s bad for the community to keep posting stuff and then deleting the account.

Currently I understand that Lemmy with all the problems it have is never meant to replace Reddit.

Considering the fact that even the activity here on Lemmy took a dip from months ago, I feel that it’s not even worth using Lemmy anymore.

Guess its time for me to move on from Lemmy.

      Good Luck.

I know what you’re talking about, but I haven’t had those issues here on lemm.ee, at least not yet. I’d see if it works any better for you here.

Unfortunately, because of the nature of Lemmy, instances can be kind of opinionated. You can run your own, but that’s really too high of a bar for most people.

For some reason, lemm.ee (my current account instance) doesn’t allow me to upload pictures or change my profile picture.

Sigh. I guess I’ll just have to wait for the next big thing to come along and compete with Reddit.

I’m disappointed with Lemmy because I spent so much time here thinking it would be perfect one day. But that day never came.

Anyway, I hope you have a better experience here than I did.

Yeah another Lemmy problem is growing pains. If an instance does start to pick up traffic the hobbyists hosting the server will have to foot massive bills. That combined with the colossal learning curve make it an easy site to forget about.

Also hosting any instance to me is insane. If someone posted illegal material and it’s being stored on your personal server in your home that sounds like a one way trip to jail.
