Huh? This article gives instructions how to replace your Firefox SNAP package with a DEB package instead. Isn’t that what people want?

Not in a gaming community because your post isn’t gaming content.

C’mon man. Lighten up. This is also a Linux community. And as far as I know, Linux gamers also use browsers for game-related tasks.

Sorry about the downvotes. I’ve found Lemmy to be weirdly territorial like reddit, despite having only a few 10k users. There’s not enough content to push everything into hyper specific silos. I feel you. Also, thanks. I had some weird permissions issue on my Ubuntu gaming rig with Firefox snap and installing the .deb resolved my issue. Ignore the haters-- I found this post useful.

I think people want a distribution to do what they ask of it, not one where you need to use workarounds to get it do do what you want.

I get what you mean. But I posted this for anyone who still wants to remain on an Ubuntu based distro and are facing problems with the Firefox Snap.

And honestly, the same problems are occurring with the Flatpak version as well because of how the sandboxing breaks certain extensions.

Yeah, but also is making excuses for how terrible SNAP is. This is a means to an end which is not addressing the problem. The site literally has “omgubuntu” in its name.
