The American Legion’s mission is to enhance the well-being of America’s veterans, their families, our military, and our communities by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.
The legion is officially a non-partisan organization that focuses on helping veterans.
The legion is making a big push to modernize their organization. This means doing things that younger people enjoy. Come join, even if you’re not a veteran or service member, they would still love your support, even if it’s just gaming with them.
It says on the page that all spouses can join. The only people that can’t join are non-veteran sons because there is a separate thing for son’s of the American Legion. In reality it doesn’t matter if you’re all just hanging out together anyway. It only really matters if you want to be part of the internal politics, but honestly, it’s probably worse than being in the military.
