They also said it won’t film back-to-back with Secret Wars.

Feige did confirm that all four core members of The Fantastic Four will star in the film alongside Robert Downey Jr as Dr Doom. Benedict Cumberbatch revealed back in June that he would reprise his role as Doctor Strange in the film. Kevin Feige also confirmed that the Thunderbolts would appear in Avengers: Doomsday, but he did not say which members of the team fans could expect to see.

So this isn’t a one-two punch, this is a shake-and-bake. And no, those aren’t industry terms.

We’re not going to get the one-two punch of Infinity War/Endgame with these films. We’re going to spend a lot more time in the “blip” era after Doom shakes things up.

We’re going to get Avengers: Doomsday as a full introduction to Doctor Doom. The Avengers might actually win, but it will come at a high cost, likely a world without heroes. We’ll probably also learn that this is what Doom wanted, or he’ll find a way to use it to his advantage. Then we’re going to live in that world for at least a film or two and probably a TV show.

During that time we can continue to lose heroes, leaving screen space for untested heroes. I’m guessing Secret Wars will then be a Young Avengers film.
