Glad I have an old iPhone that will hopefully never get “Apple Intelligence”, all this AI bullshit is an absolute fucking cancer.
I wish there was a viable mobile OS that wasn’t iOS or Android. Apple and iOS absolutely have their problems, but Android just feels so much worse – clunky and actively hostile to privacy, where at least iOS pretends to be better about it. I’ve got an Android tablet that I use to talk to one specific device I own, and the fucking thing reguarly infuriates me. Just the hoops I had to jump through to disable all the Google spyware was, argh
Better than “stock” Android I suppose, but still Android.
I wonder how Sailfish OS is doing nowadays. MeeGo was pretty good for its day but Nokia managed to completely fuck their smartphone line up, and I’m not too convinced Jolla’s capable of getting Sailfish to go anywhere either
I doubt it’ll be opt-in for long, and just like with Siri, even if you do opt out they’ll likely still use your information for who knows what.
That’s how Siri is on the macOS side nowadays, anyhow. You can disable it, but many of its services will keep running and building up databases of you that you don’t even have access to without disabling SIP, and they’ll also use your data to run some sort of machine learning “trials” on you – regardless of whether you consent to your data being used for Siri/analytics or not.

It’s still android but it’s at least de-googled. https://murena.com/
