Walnut and maple., it’s an inch and a quarter thick, 12 1/2 inches wide and about 17 inches long. While it is an end grain cutting board I actually built it with kneading dough in mind, I don’t intend to cut on this one, not for awhile anyway. Built it this weekend and baked some bread with it today. Which is why my mixer is covered in flour. I’m really happy with this one.
This just gave me an idea for a brownie/cookie “brick wall” with peanut butter “mortar” and now I want to try and make it…
I wouldn’t be able to cut anything on that, because I wouldn’t want to blemish the face. It’s perfect.
Ooh that sounds good, keep us up to speed on any developments. If peanut butter doesn’t work out, maybe caramel? Or butterscotch? Baking season is upon us, I may have to give it a whirl myself.
