There’s also a 6-episode TV show that’s the exact same premise, only in Africa, also based on real events and a book. “Rogue Heroes”, I found it on MGM+ when I subscribed for “From”:

    Book: https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/253398/rogue-heroes-by-ben-macintyre/

Technically, this movie has a basis in TWO books:

The film is based on just the first two missions from the book, largely I think because the main character in the film (Henry Cavill’s character), in real life was killed on the very next mission. :(

The crazy part, the absolutely bonkers part, compared to the film, is that the real life story is presented without a single casualty on either side for those missions. Obviously Guy Ritchie won’t let THAT stand and it wouldn’t have made a fun movie if no Nazis got killed. :)

How good is From, BTW? Heard about it, binged the first season for free then was like “Shut up and take my money!”

I’m one episode behind on season 3 now, catching up tonight.

I am loving it! I wish there was an active community here to discuss theories because I could go on and on. But it is my kind of television and I can’t wait to find out what happens next. If Jade and Victor start working together I think they will absolutely figure out what is going on.
