I think people are also overlooking that younger generations are also more open to “sharing” and ideas behind open source, historically older generations would hold on to knowledge where possible to secure their position.
I like that people these days are making things just for the joy of making things that other people find useful.

I don’t think it’s entirely the younger generation.
The internet itself is what has enabled the FOSS movement to organize, take a stand, and share.
