Honestly hope they don’t aim to be the next TikTok. It’d be better to just be another short form platform and aim for feature parity. If they try to be the same thing they’ll fall victim to some of the stuff that makes TikTok and YouTube shorts suck. If they are entirely their own thing but they have close-enough feature parity then they can stand as another option, not just alternative option. For the bad side of that, see YouTube shorts (compared to TikTok). For the good side, see Lemmy (compared to reddit).
Well If they wanna be the next tiktok, they’ll need recording and editing in the app at least. But yeah web version needs to be on the roadmap!
