Spoken like someone who hasn’t figured out that it was all a ruse from the beginning.

“Biden has BETRAYED Israel, he paused weapons, he pushed for a cease-fire. He yelled at Netanyahu and threatened some sort of mild theoretical consequences if he just rolled over Gaza with a line of bulldozers and killed 90% instead of 10%. We need him out NOW.”

“Biden has BETRAYED the people of Gaza by failing to prevent Netanyahu from the war Netanyahu unilaterally started, sending weapons shipments like every other US President has always done, also don’t pay any attention to the substantial differences between Harris and Biden on this issue, just focus on the fact the we need him out NOW I mean her.”

“Biden has BETRAYED the people of middle America by letting millions of immigrants in, shutting down Trump’s most horrible policies, migrant crime, look at this person whose daughter died. We need him out NOW.”

“Biden has BETRAYED immigrants by failing to completely undo decades of racism in immigration, only shutting down the most heinous 30% of Trump’s policies even with the Republicans fighting tooth and nail to stop him shutting down that 30%. It’s all his fault, also he made it worse in some vague emotionally-loaded ways. We need him out NOW.”

And the centrists bought it, and the leftists bought it too, and they never even compared notes to realize they were getting the exact opposite messaging and a good part of all sides of the messaging was made-up emotionally loaded lies tailored to what would make an impact. Most of the stuff about Biden just got reused against Kamala Harris unchanged, and it was so well-worn by that point that it still worked.

And they never paid all that much attention to what they were getting in, when they got him out now I mean her.

And now, we’ve got it in instead, and god help us.

Biden wanting to stop supporting Israel is complete crap. Protesters didn’t invent their outrage out of nothing. Here’s evidence for people who want facts. No one knows what he could have done - he never seriously tried. He could have invoked the Leahy Law for starters, but “The State Department has never delivered a list of ineligible Israeli units to the government of Israel. Not once.” All his “warnings” and “concerns” were just words:

      • “Majority in U.S. Now Disapprove of Israeli Action in Gaza” “Approval has dropped from 50% to 36% since November” “All three major party groups in the U.S. have become less supportive of Israel’s actions in Gaza than they were in November. This includes declines of 18 percentage points in approval among both Democrats and independents and a seven-point decline among Republicans.”

As for Kamala being so much different:

      • “Time is running out for Kamala Harris to break with Biden on the Gaza catastrophe” “Kamala Harris was asked how her presidency would differ from Joe Biden’s. “There is not a thing that comes to mind,” she said.” “Harris also made positive rhetorical gestures towards the plight of Palestinians, saying kind words in her convention speech about the injustice of their suffering and their right to self-determination. But for the most part, that’s all these moves were – words. Now, Harris has mostly stopped saying them.”

      • “Here’s Why Two Protesters Interrupted Kamala Harris—in Their Own Words” “The vice president was both stern and direct in her response. “If you want Donald Trump to win, say that,” Harris commanded from the stage. “Otherwise, I’m speaking.” Her supporters at the rally roared in applause, drowning out both Hamamy and Hakim, who were escorted out of the rally. Following the Hamamy and Hakim protest, Phil Gordon, an adviser to Vice President Harris posted on social media that her position has been clear. “She will always ensure Israel is able to defend itself against Iran and Iran-backed terrorist groups. She does not support an arms embargo on Israel,” Gordon wrote.”

Biden wanting to stop supporting Israel is complete crap.

        Yes, I agree.

It sounds like you missed the point of my message. Biden was awful on Israel. My point was that because Israel could become a liability for him, it got blown up on social media in a way where the legitimate and impassioned protest movement became a huge electoral issue for him. And, in the corners of social media where you hang out, it’s all over social media, always in the face of everyone whose vote it might impact, and front of mind for you, every day, in a way that I’m guessing Occupy Wall Street or the protests against the Uyghur genocide were not. And then, when it was Kamala Harris, everything he’d done translated seamlessly over to her, with almost no loss of impact.

There’s a whole other population of people for which inflation is that issue. They see it constantly on social media, it’s always linked to Biden Kamala, and Trump is so much better. Trump will fix it. That one has a lot less validity than the Gaza criticism, but it has a lot broader appeal. And so, with that in their ear every day, it’s not surprising that a lot of them didn’t show up for Kamal Harris, or got suckered into voting for Trump thinking somehow that he’ll fix it.

Left-wing social media could have blown up Biden’s absolutely historic actions on climate change into the same magnitude of issue as Gaza was, and blown it up in everyone’s ear all day every day, and heard about what a catastrophe Trump will be, but they didn’t. Why is that? Because no one’s paying for that message to get out there.

I’m not saying the Gaza protestors, or their cause, are fake. I’m saying that the way things got covered and represented on social media was artificially generated to hurt Biden Kamala, and it worked.

Am I the only one who believes we shouldn’t pin foreign policy as a deciding factor on who to elect for president? Hear me out first…

That is not to say that how the US responds to Israel and Gaza is not important. Genocide is never the answer. What I’m suggesting instead is that a president should be elected primarily on domestic policies, not foreign ones.

Ok, thanks for reading — commence downvoting. 😊

Except a presidents job is foreign policy. For domestic policy senate and house has far more control.

Foreign policy is important for too as it also affects US domestically.

Having said that, US president can do very little to stop the conflict if fascist like Netanyahu doesn’t want to cooperate.

We don’t have access to the same information they do, so we can’t easily judge their decision. The POTUS gets to have conversations with world leaders. These conversations convey attitudes, view points, and information we don’t have. They have the CIA, am ambassadors that are experts in the respective culture and country, and DIA that they get information from.

For all we know, Israel was going to nuke Gaza and Biden talked them down. Also, I can all but guarantee Hamas would be doing worse if the roles were reversed:

Some extraordinary mental gymnastics to justify genocide. maybe theres something we dont know that justifies it, so its justified

I’m not saying genocide is justified. I’m saying there is a lot we don’t know about the situation. We don’t have the intel, we don’t know what was said in private conversations between Biden and Netanyahu. Consider the fact that Hamas was using a hospital to store weapons. That means the hospital loses its protected status and bombing it isn’t a war crime according to the Geneva conventions. There is also inevitably a lot of propaganda. Maybe you are correct and Biden fully supports the genocide. I highly doubt that. It doesn’t negate my point that there is a lot about the situation that we don’t really know. Hamas sucks. Israel sucks. It’s a dumpster fire.

If you dont know, you dont know. Israel and Biden could be even more of a monster than we know publicly. You’re still trying to use ignorance as a license for genocide
