Good for you if that’s an option i guess. For most people though it’s not realistic, and as tempting as it sounds I’m not sure if I’d want to even if I could. Yes, 1/3 of the adults in this country seem to be welcoming fascism with open arms, and a not insignificant portion of the other 2/3s either didn’t realize or didn’t care what was at stake. But fuck if I’m gonna just bail when the going gets rough. I’ve never considered myself especially patriotic but I care about the lives and prosperity of the people here and if this is how it’s gonna be I’ll do my best to affect what change I can. Maybe this is a privileged take because I’m not in a demographic that will be targeted but I’d like to try to help the ones that are.
