I don’t forsee SpaceX getting into the space-telescope-building business. Launching them, yes, and maybe contributing some form of satellite bus in the form of Starship/Starlink, but I expect that the design and construction of space telescopes will stay under NASA’s domain.
Well don’t expect the US to get this project moving, because all science funding will be gone in two months time.
Im sure there will be plenty of science funding finding its way into Musks pocket
