As someone who works with Duties and Customs all day, I wonder how the 25% increase would play with MX being in the USMCA free trade agreement, which allows duty free entry for qualifying goods. If it’s a 232 tariff, I guess it could get added onto the 0% duty.
Also, there are still the 301 tariffs on goods made in China (doesn’t matter where they ship from, country of origin and country of export are two different things) from the first administration that I feel like people forget never went away.
