#MeToo is why the Democratic Party lost.

Or at least it makes more sense than a lot of the other reasons I’ve heard that don’t involve the economy and low information voters.

Yes, I’m sure that was what did it and not the whole expecting people to vote for a black woman in an extremely racist patriarchy of a country thing.

Holy shit, how hard is it to tell that was sarcasm.

        What is wrong with people?

At least don’t use super giant letters and make it a little more obvious you’re trying to mock the weirdos, not rally them.

            Giant letters?

How does saying people who are against the #MeToo movement are all Trump supporters, not calling them weirdos? I don’t think weird goes far enough.

Sexual assault is illegal inspite of Republicans not because of them. In nany states a rape victim is legally obligated to birth their rapists child and they think that’s wonderful; Godly.

It’s not calling them weirdos in their eyes, because they really do just see “#metoo” and (without understanding what it implies) they immediately register it as “godless liberal nonsense”. It may look like unmistakable exaggerated sarcasm to you, but if you visit any of the places where they talk, the way you wrote is exactly what they sound like, except without any sarcasm.

Also, the hash symbol marks text as a header and it looks like this on my app:

        No, the Trump party does.

How anyone would think I agree with the statement is silly.

“other reasons I’ve heard that don’t involve the economy and low information voters.”

Seems pretty obvious, lemmy is just a weird toxic place where everyone jumps at the chance to argue with any comment even though we all agree about 90% of this stuff.

/me looks at downvotes from trying to convince people to talk to Trump voters to see if they can be persuaded to, and everyone thinking I mean talk to the people who’s mind cannot be changed

              Yep
