I’ve used Freemind for a long time, but I’m wondering if there is a recommendation for a more modern version of this? Trying to install on my new PC, it claims me version of Java is old.

After posting this, I found Freeplane which feels very similar.
Nice, hope it works for you. Never quite got how mind maps were superior to quick notes other than the usually weak link between the ones I wrote
