Linux was inspired by Unix, and initially developed on Minix, but is its own OS with its own code. GNU+Linux doesn’t follow Unix philosophy with the monolithic kernel and SystemD.

Custom ISOs can be made for Windows also. People using modern hardware generally dont bother for reasons.

I never see discussions of puppy or dsl outside of suggesting it for old hardware. In contrast, there’s quite a bit on Windows XP, and 7. Puppy isn’t made for modern computers and will have problems and performance issues with newer hardware. Puppy doesn’t use standard software making it troublesome to install and uncomfortable to use. Its community software lacks polish over official packages which can lead to instability.

With the limited capabilities of Linux already, it’s likely more practical to use a smart phone for web browsing and general use, and an air-gapped (or non critical) older WIndows version for what it can’t cover.

Puppy originally fit on a 1.44mb floppy disk.

At this point, I have no idea what you’re even trying to criticize anymore, besides just pulling anti-Linux arguments out of your ass.
If you want a modern, general purpose system that isn’t bloated, use Debian.

It’s installed size on disk is half the size of Windows’ compressed ISO (both default).

And if you’re bringing up Windows XP in 2024, then WHAT IN THE EVERLOVING FUCK ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY???
