Having owned one I’d say at least 5% is the phantom breaking on the highway.

I haven’t had an incident with phantom breaking, but I have noticed that you can’t always count on the regen to slow the car same way every time.

And every once in a while my brain will still think I’m driving a combustion engine and I’ll take my foot off the accelerator too much and slow/break the car, I could imagine that being a problem for the driver behind me.

Does the phantom breaking happen during FSD or while you are manually driving the car?

Normal cruise control on the highway while driving over bridges is what would trigger it for me, I just so happen to drive in that situation on my daily commute. Reported it in the infotainment quite a few times, but ended up eventually just selling the car. (It was a model x with the upgraded fsd cameras and computer, hw3)

That’s not great, I’ve got the 2024 model x and still have been finding that the whole Tesla Vision system to be a bit of a novelty. Definitely not ready for prime time. Nothing as serious as phantom breaking, but the inconsistencies of the alert system are annoying, especially when you are nowhere near the side of the road or the car breaking in front of you is three car lengths away.

Glad you made it through without a collision.
