i mean, its a little stupid. its grammar they teach in elementary school and adults are getting it wrong. it hurts readability when you have to decipher what they were trying to say

I get it if it really hurts your ability to figure out what they are saying. Since the whole point of written text is to convey something. That’s when it does matter. But I don’t think that was the case in that comment and it was quite easy to figure out what they were saying. I’d guess most people reading it wouldn’t even notice it (I didn’t until I saw the rude reply). And when it doesn’t impact understanding what they said, I think it’s really nitpicky to call them out.

The issue is more like, how in the world are there still people getting this wrong when it has to be the most corrected grammar issue? The other thing is its easier for native speakers to figure stuff out, but for learners, natives making mistakes like this is a nightmare. Why can’t people just fix their comment instead of trying to defend their mistake?

clearly a some people care. just because its not a thesis doesn’t mean you can’t try to write clearly. look, I’m not even capitalizing the first letter in my sentences, but i at least make logical sense.
