    Short version— we don’t know.

Longer version— it is likely, doge is looking to make cuts, and while it would be insanely unpopular, it could be on the table.

The treasury secretary wants to reduce the deficit to 3% of gdp but also to cut taxes… so cuts to social programs are possible (likely)

So while we can say we don’t know for sure, it is highly likely.

Imagine having the advisory team named after the cryptoscam one of the members (at least) participated in. Doesn’t get more clowny and openly dishonest than that.

The only possible way is if they change the name to Bureau of Corruption.

        named after the cryptoscam

“doge” became a meme in 2010, long before cryptocurrency was a thing the mainstream were even aware of, let alone the one named after it.

Dogecoin is also not his. It came into existence in 2013. Elon’s first tweet about it was in 2020.

If anything, you could reasonably argue that both that department name and his interest in that particular cryptocurrency are based on his affinity for the same original meme. But neither the meme nor the currency belong to him.

Just because he didn’t create the coin doesn’t mean he isn’t responsible for several pump and dump scams that he’s run on the coin.

If I pick a random penny stock and tell a bunch of rubes to buy it and we’ll all be rich, only to sell my shares when they reach a high point, that’s still a pump and dump scam, even if I have no affiliation with the company.

Musk doesn’t own the coin, but he does own the scams he pulled with it.

Just to clarify “doge” isn’t a real thing and has no real power. They can propose cuts, but it would be the senate and the house that would have to pass changes to social security. They may take up initiatives “doge” proposes, but it’ll be your representatives that make the actual choice.
