That’s why I don’t like the term indigenous. They all came from somewhere. A childhood friend was Indian and would always correct people when they said indigenous.
He didn’t like Native American either. His family preferred the term Indian.
His dad grew up on a reservation. Served twenty years in the Army. I remember there was controversy about naming our helicopters have Indian tribes. That debate pissed him off. He was proud that it was the Apache helicopter. He was proud of the Kansas City chiefs. The Cleveland Indians.
