    The worst of Reddit, in your mind, being good faith discussions?

    Weird pet peeve, but okay.

      “Goodbye” is not good faith. In fact, presenting it as good faith is not good faith.

      That’s the neat part of lemmy: You’re not just screaming into the void - unlike reddit, people aren’t interchangeable “random strangers”. In fact, it’s small enough you can see people around, recognize names, even get an idea of how they behave. You may even notice some people who habitually try and “bye” their way out of an argument that’s going bad for them. And you may advise them to go back to the website where that works - for everyone’s benefit.
