Been using the same antiperspirant for 7 years. I have bad allergies and sensitive skin so once I find one that works for me I stick with it. My stockpile I bought last year was finally running out so I bought a new can. Identical packaging, absolutely no difference on the outside. I used it for the first time today and discovered that they added some kind of powerful, harsh fragrance to it which immediately irritated my eyes and nose. Then after a few minutes my armpits broke out in a rash. I’m fucking livid.

    You didn’t check the ingredients?

The ingredients lists on the old and new cans are identical with the fragrance being labeled simply as “fragrance” because they aren’t legally obligated to specify what they used in it.

If someone uses the same brand for years without issue and then out of the blue they change formula with no obvious indicator, why would they be checking the ingredients? Do you check the ingredients each and every time you make a routine purchase?

If there was a long time between purchases I would absolutely do that. I’ve got people I care about with food allergies so that’s been a prudent strategy for me. Brands change shit all the time. Most people with allergies do that too
