The District of Columbia sued Amazon on Wednesday, alleging the company secretly stopped providing its fastest delivery service to residents of two predominantly Black neighborhoods while still charging millions of dollars for a membership that promises the benefit.

The complaint filed in District of Columbia Superior Court revolves around Amazon’s Prime membership, which costs consumers $139 per year or $14.99 per month for fast deliveries — including one-day, two-day and same-day shipments — along with other enhancements.

In mid-2022, the lawsuit alleges, the Seattle-based online retailer imposed what it called a delivery “exclusion” on two low-income ZIP codes in the district — 20019 and 20020 — and began relying exclusively on third-party delivery services such as UPS and the U.S. Postal Service, rather than its own delivery systems.

I am doing no such thing. Bezos is not the person doing the deliveries, low-paid, non-union Amazon workers are. I care about them, not Bezos. And I can see now that you didn’t bother reading the article.

The attacks are happening in the zip codes where Amazon is not delivering. That’s why they’re not delivering.

I was going to ask why you haven’t explained to my why USPS drivers should risk themselves but Amazon driver shouldn’t, but now it’s clear to me that you just think all of them should. I wonder if you’ve ever even worked in such a job or if you’ve just decided you know what’s best for them? Because I’m betting its the latter.

Edit: also, I have no idea why you think caring about some low-paid employee’s safety means I love the company they work for. Do you mock fast food employees when they get robbed at gunpoint because the company deserves it and anyone who worries about those employees is just a corporate bootlicker? Do you care about humans other than yourself at all?
