Summary

Luigi Mangione, accused of murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan, is fighting extradition from Pennsylvania to New York.

Arrested Monday with evidence linking him to the crime, Mangione faces multiple charges, including second-degree murder and gun violations.

At his hearing, he shouted accusations of injustice and was denied bail.

His lawyer plans to challenge the detention and has stated Mangione will plead not guilty.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul intends to issue a warrant for extradition, while Pennsylvania prosecutors prioritize transferring Mangione for trial in New York.

Why does he talk about injustice for the country rather than… Y’know, saying they got the wrong guy? The killer was hot, rich, and hated the Healthcare system. They just happened to dig up another hot rich dude that hated ceos and framed him?

Seems highly plausible. It also wouldn’t be hard for them to do.

Railing about the people is not the same as “I am literally not that guy.”
