The Information Commissioner's Office will be updating its guidance after a Which? report found two air fryer manufacturers have been sending personal data to servers in China.

Meanwhile, smart TVs made by Hisense and Samsung which were tested by Which? asked for people’s postcodes during set-up. Samsung’s TV app also asked for permission to be able to see all the other apps on the user’s phone.
From what I understand, zip code is used with the live TV offerings on some smart TVs to personalize what local news stations they show in the lineup. I hate smart TVs in general (i just want a big monitor again), but this doesn’t seem too nefarious, and from what I’ve seen its skippable.
