Except the USA is ripe for aligning with them.

The UN needs to limit veto power. I think of the 5 countries with veto power, it should take 3 to block something.

The Security Council shouldn’t even have permanent members and certainly no minority veto powers.

These permanent members are in the top arms suppliers, playing a double game of pretending to work for world peace while gaining from wars.

Yeah, this polarized world between Russia and USA is tiring.
We have no choice to make our propers decision, according to “our values”, to make them stopping this.

At one moment, they cannot be (the US) in war with the entire world.
Even they abuse their autority on the dollars, etc, at a moment, that will not work anymore,

But, that sound a lot like an Utopia for now…

Russia is seeing to it that they eventually decline so much as to be a non-significant power. In terms of GDP and population they are between Mexico and Brazil and are only going to decline. Their war against Ukraine is going to be one of the most destructive things to ever happen to Russia.

If the permanent members of the security council didn’t have veto powers they A: wouldn’t have joined, and B: would go “you and what army?” if people voted to force them to do something.

It’s just a way to keep a high level discussion going.

Not really, since anything they disagree with gets shot down. I agree that’s what would happen without veto power, but it’s effectively a worthless position to anyone trying to do right by the world.

            Yeah it’s not hugely effective
