      Display Port isn’t typically an option for home entertainment centers and TVs.

        You know

        It sucks but HDMI is DRM and thus media conglomerate friendly. They media companies hate open tech.

      I would use DisplayPort if display manufacturers would put them on decent sized screens! I compute from the couch (because fuck back-breaking office chairs) and I have yet to find a display larger than 32" with a DisplayPort. They’re all HDMI-only.

        I like the display port to HTMI cables. It isn’t a perfect solution but it has more flexibility.

        You do need a supported output device.
