People really could benefit from an occasional reminder that the need for critical thinking in life doesn’t take a vacation. Believing things will “work out” just because one hopes it will is a dangerous game, especially when those people promote the risk-taking to others. Stay sane and dis-invest emotionally from things in which one has literally zero control of the outcome.
I don’t know man, that sounds a bit poopy. I donated a small amount, mostly to make a comment on the site. I’m happy to gamble a small amount on it. And if it’s a scam, well, maybe someone will shoot them as well.
It’s easy to get away with a few grand for some sick child, but when there are hundreds or thousands of donors in a national fundraiser, the people—and authorities—often ask questions. It would be considered fraud.
I donated a while back. It has a lot of eyes, so I doubt it can get shady without a ton of noise. At this point it’s pretty safe—in my opinion only.
