I had a hard time getting into at first. Jason Aaron’s writing is hit or miss for me. I really liked his run on Thor back in the day, I would recommend it to everyone at the time. But his run on Avengers was definitely not for me, I strongly disliked it. I gave it so many chances, but I think there must have been one or at most two issues I enjoyed from that run.
I had my doubts going into TMNT, and I saw some of the same stuff I didn’t like in the first issues. But by issue four I started getting more into it and there was less of the stuff I don’t like or maybe the rest of the story makes it more tolerable. Hopefully I’ll keep enjoying it and I’ll keep my subscription going.
I get where you are coming from. I thought Aaron’s recent Punisher run was awesome. Absolute Superman is also shaping up nicely and I think the TMNT run has been solid so far. I like that it is staying street level, at least for a while.
