Culture industries are dominated by a few big corporations that prefer to keep flogging old stories instead of taking a risk on something new. Creative workers can still produce fresh ideas, but they’re snuffed out before they get a chance to breathe.
Heh, Lina Kahn’s done the best job at that of anyone in years. Rupert Murdoch has pushed hundreds of hit pieces against her because she’s been so strong on the antitrust suits.
That’s true, and yet my point is, too. It just goes to show how comprehensively the FTC has been failing that even good leadership is too little, too late at this point.
