On a real note, the lack of preparation people do in some places is absolutely unreal.
I was driving up a mountain once with 6ft of snow on both sides, there was a Honda Accord in front of me slowly trying to make it’s way up. I kept my distance cause I noticed it was kinda sliding back and forth a little bit. Then it just stopped moving, then wheels started spinning and it started sliding back down the road. No chains, no studded tires. We weren’t too far from the highway, and there weren’t any kids in their car so I just drove around them and continued on my way but damn. What kind of thought process does it take to think, “oh yeah I can make it up this mountain in the middle of winter with a front wheel drive car and summer tires”. Just having chains on the front would have been more than enough. I have made it up that road with chains on a FWD Kia multiple times before getting an AWD vehicle.
Laughs in AWD with studded tires.
