Hello artistsn
This week you will use a medium that you have little-to-no experience with. Obvious choice is to pick up a type of paint, drawing material, clay, digital program, or other item you’ve never touched before. But that can take money and we don’t need to make this challenge expensive. So here are some ideas:
-
Use a new tool in a medium you normally work with. Try out a new paintbrush or pen, or add a different material to a collage.
-
Combine materials/mediums. If you tried painting and drawing but not together, you can combine them. Or maybe sculpture and collage. Photography and comic strips?
-
Crayons - have you used these since you were a kid? If you’ve only used them in coloring books, you can try making something more advanced with them. There are plenty of childrens’ art materials you can usually pick up inexpensively.
Go forth and create.
I’m not currently confident enough to share anything here, but I’ll be participating. Thanks for doing this.
You’re welcome. I hope you’ll feel up to sharing at some point because I don’t just want to see art that’s technically proficient, I like to see people’s creative efforts regardless of where they are in their journey.
