Gonna keep this short and straight to the point, we all know how they act.
With trump siding with the Tech Bros Billionaires on immigration, even after his most die hard supporters were against it. I see several MAGAS just falling in line with Elon calling them stupid and that’s why we need more educated and qualified people to take these better jobs (whilst we’re on the cusp of deleting the Department of Education).
Anyone with functions eyes and ears can tell you they’ve been played, but they’re still deeply loyal to trump even though he back tracking on one of his biggest (and few) positions. Without mass deportations or hawkish immigration laws. What the hell does trump even offer to these people other than the occasional dog whistles they love?
I’d add fear and despair to the list - Probably mostly the latter, at least the ones I’ve met and talked with.
Both parties in the US and “rich people first”, but by differing degrees. That the democrats didn’t really make working people’s lives better in meaningful ways seems to be why most voted Trump.
The difference seems to be that Republicans are even more pro-rich than the Democrats but hide it better with their gaslighting and identity politics. This seems to work as republican voters hear “we feel you” from the leadership which is actively working on self-enrichment and little else.
To be honest, it’s hard to see Democrats coming back from this unless they move back to the left and do a lot more grass roots work.
Didn’t Harris just get the 3rd most votes in American history and was only off like 150k votes across the blue wall from becoming president elect. I think Dems can easily come back from this.
I do hope so. But also not in their current form. Governments need to start looking a lot more like the population they rule
