Absolutely nothing is going on at work today and it’s snowing, so I watched a replay of the Brentford match since I didn’t watch live. Here’s some notes that no one asked for.

10’: Nwaneri’s corner is slightly overhit and way too lofted. I don’t think we appreciate how good Saka and Rice are at delivering corners for us. It’s one thing to kick a ball high enough to clear the giants the opponents are playing in the box but also whip it so as to minimize the amount of time the defense has to prepare for it, and also land it in a zone the size of a dinner table.
15’: I think all teams whose names are not three syllables long should be banned from the “we’re by far the greatest team” chant.
28’: I don’t know what the fuss is all about. You lot want to play out the back, but you don’t have the cojones to watch Raya play from the very back of his box. /s
29’: Great goal, obviously. I love that Jesus stays right in the box, waiting for something to develop, rather than going back to help facilitate. Also a little confused why nobody went to the corner to celebrate with him.
52’: Second time in two minutes that I’ve seen Merino straight up miscontrol the ball and lose it. The man is a physical monster, but he’s not going to tekkers his way into the box like prime Jesus. I think he’s infinitely more useful in games that we think we’ll have to resort to cross and inshallah.
53’: Audacious volley from Martinelli, and like Jesus, I pray that he’s regaining his confidence because we need 2021 Martinelli back desperately.
71’: We had 6 offsides in this match. We had 3 at Fulham and 5 at Everton. We really need to communicate better.
76’: Raya gets nudged by Schade while claiming and absolutely trucks him in response. My fucking keeper.
81’: Oh hey, incident #203847238 of a player delaying a free kick and not getting booked. Yes, I’m going to keep pointing this out because it makes me immeasurably angry.
