Under article 131 of the Dutch criminal code, which governs lemmy.world, inciting crimes is considered sedition and is illegal. These comments appear to advocate for a second CEO shooting, as “arrested it at a McDonalds” is a reference to Luigi Mangione. Mangione claims that the evidence was planted on him by the police, and this claim is consistent with the methods employed by the actual CEO shooter. Nonetheless, Luigi has become the face of the CEO shooting in the public eye. The third comment here by @[email protected] clearly calls for a second CEO shooter to act, and is therefore inciting murder. Under Dutch law, this is sedition, and cannot legally be allowed on lemmy.world.
Anyone who believes inciting assassination of CEOs is ethical, has an ethical objection to Dutch law and therefore an ethical objection to lemmy.world’s terms of service, as a legally compliant social media website based in the Netherlands.
