    I hear what you’re saying, but we need the manager to galvanise the fanbase and he can’t do that with such statements. Even the ball nonsense is just getting in the way. Sometimes he just needs to say it wasn’t good enough and we will be better in the next game.

      For sure, but as in politics, it is much easier to blame generic factors and keep the people happy, rather than admit fault (or promise improvement) and keep people happy.

      He’s trying to manage the media story after a shit game. Significantly more people will read the news articles based on the interview, rather than read the interview transcript.

      I don’t like it, but it’s a business.

        But the problem is, the media story is him saying we deserved to win, when we couldn’t even mount a shot on target until they got a man sent off.
